John Aniston, the ‘Days of Our Lives star and father to Jennifer Aniston, has died at 89

John Aniston was a soap opera veteran best known for his work in Days of Our Lives. His daughter Jennifer Aniston shared the news Monday morning. He was 89.

Jennifer wrote, “You were one the most beautiful people I ever knew.”

“I am so thankful that you flew peacefully and without pain into the skies. It was 11/11! You always had perfect timing. This number will always have a greater meaning to me.

A reports that Aniston was featured in almost 3,000 Days of Our Lives episodes. His soap opera career began in 1970 when he played Eric Richards. In 1985, Victor Kiriakis returned to the soap opera as Victor Kiriakis. He is now a well-known crime boss.
He won two Soap Opera Digest Awards in 1986 for the outstanding actor playing a leading role in a daytime serial and outstanding villain in a daytime series.

He was awarded the Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award last year.

Jennifer made a virtual appearance at the Emmys to honor her father’s achievements, even though he didn’t attend.

Jennifer stated, “This is truly an extraordinary moment for me.” It’s a way to pay tribute to a true legend on daytime TV, and it’s also an opportunity to recognize the lifetime achievements of a great actor, who happens to be my father.
She said, “For more than 30 years, his dedication towards that show has earned him respect and admiration from his fellow actors, deep friends, and thrilled millions of people around the globe.” His career is the epitome of lifetime achievement.

Aniston also had roles in Star Trek: Voyager and Gilmore Girls, The West Wing, and Mad Men.
