Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, and Ottawa all made it on the list due to their large populations of immigrants.
As per Resonance Consultancy, Toronto has been named 24th among the 100 most desirable cities worldwide. This British Columbia-founded marketing company specializes in branding and marketing for the world’s cities, district developments, and tourist destinations.
The list lists cities worldwide with populations greater than one million. These rankings are determined by security, outdoor space, labor population participation, GDP, nightlife, university, tourist attractions, and weather.
Toronto was ranked as the top any Canadian city in Canada. Toronto was awarded high marks for economic growth, fueled by the influx of immigrants and investment from around the world.
The report states that the city is very diverse, with 50% of the population having a foreign origin. The report also praised Toronto’s high scores on education, as Toronto is said as one of the world’s top-educated cities. However, the 24th place is an improvement from the report of 2022, where Toronto had a position of 18th.
The top spot title was awarded to London seven times consecutively, and Kyiv was awarded the whole honorary place due to the struggles it endured due to the Russian invasion of the city last year. It is noteworthy that even though Moscow, Russia’s capital, came in fourth place in 2022, it was removed from the list along with St. Petersburg.
London’s place in the top ten is due to the high ratings for international investment, luxury real estate, tourism, and vibrant nightlife. Other cities in the top ten are Paris, New York, Tokyo, Dubai, Barcelona, Rome, Madrid, Singapore, and Amsterdam.
The other four Canadian cities listed include Montreal at 57th place, Calgary at 65, Vancouver at 69, and Ottawa at 96th spot. The study reveals that all four cities are home to large populations of immigrants. Montreal was a top performer in terms of culture, and Calgary’s score was for its higher GDP and younger people. Vancouver was a success due to its natural surroundings, and Ottawa got on the list because of its low cost of living.

In particular, the plan is designed to allow over 60% of the new permanent residents to migrate through an economical route like an Express Entry program.
