Express Entry, as well as the PNP inventory

The information taken from IRCC has 47,868 people applying for Express Entry programs awaiting approval at the end of the line on January 31. It’s a slight drop of 541 compared to the data from January 3, which was 48,409.

IRCC resumed holding rounds of invitations to Express Entry candidates from all programs in July of last year. Draws were restricted to applicants who were in Canada’s provincial nominated Program (PNP) from September 21 to July 6, 2022, because IRCC could not meet its standard of service of a minimum of six months for Express Entry applications. The interruption in Express Entry invitations to Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and Canadian Experience Class candidates allowed IRCC to decrease the Express Entry inventory and return to the standard of six months for those who had received invites to submit applications on or before July 6.

PNP has a record number of applicants. PNP currently has 66,214 applicants (both enhanced and base applications together). This is an increase of a significant amount from that of the January PNP inventory of 62,720 individuals.

Family Class inventory

The total number of families in all immigration programs for families fell slightly to 124.771 as compared to 125,631 in the data of January 3.

Spouses and Partners sponsorship program Spouses and Partners program for sponsorship is among the most extensive inventories across all business lines, at 61,191, which is a slightly lower number than 61,481 as of the 3rd day of January.

The Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) includes an inventory of 52,801 people compared to 52,960 people waiting to hear their decision in January.

Service Standards

Service standards define the anticipated timeline or target to determine how long it will be to complete an application. The service standard differs from the actual time IRCC must process applications. Applications processed outside the timeframe of the service standard are assigned and considered backlog.

IRCC strives to process most applications from all areas of business in an acceptable time. It varies based on the kind of application. For instance, a permanent residency application under the Express Entry program has a minimum time frame of six months. This is more than other lines of business. IRCC says that the standard of service for child and spousal classes is twelve months.

Temporary residence applications come with requirements for service that span from 60-120 days, based on the kind of submission (work or for study) and if the application was made in Canada or from a foreign country.
