Canadian immigration options available to people who live in the Emirates
Here are some pathways that you can follow to obtain Canadian permanent residency – which could eventually lead you to citizenship – if you live in the United Arab Emirates.
We hope this article will help you understand your options for family and economic immigration. There are over 100 programs that offer economic-class immigration, including Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Programs, and other programs.
Remember that even the most expedited immigration programs can take several months from the moment you apply to the time you are granted entry. The website of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), provides estimates for processing times. However, processing times can vary due to the backlog created by the pandemic.
You can also find the IRCC website listing application fees. Be prepared to pay hidden fees for language tests, medical exams, and other services.
Your professional experience and goals will determine the best program for you. These are just a few of the programs that you can choose from to make your Canadian dream come true.
- Express Entry
- Provincial Nominee Program
- Learn first, then work
- Canadian work permits
- Sponsorship for families
- Express Entry
Express Entry is the most common Canadian immigration route. It’s a web-based framework that oversees applications to three movement programs: The Canadian Experience Class (the Federal Skilled Worker Program and the Federal Skilled Trades Program).
You can apply if you’re eligible for these programs by completing the Express Entry form.
Points are awarded for your education, age, level of English or French proficiency, and work experience. Based on the National Occupational Classification system (NOC), the IRCC decides what “skilled work” is. Skilled occupations that fall within skill levels 0, A, and B are eligible for CRS points.
Regular rounds of invitation are given to the highest-scoring candidates for permanent residence in Canada.
Provincial Nominee Programs are programs that Canadian provinces and territories create to support regional labour market issues. The program is open to almost all Canadian provinces and territories, with the exception of Nunavut or Quebec.
The Express Entry pool is used to create enhanced programs. You can earn 600 CRS points if you are nominated by a provincial through one of these PNPs. This will propel you to the top of your pool and prime you for an ITA in a future Express Entry draw.
People who aren’t eligible for Express Entry can use base PNPs as an alternative. You can immigrate to Canada through a base PNP by applying to the province. In the event that you are qualified, you will be assigned. Once you have your certificate, you can apply for permanent residence with the federal government.
Studying and working in Canada has been shown to be more lucrative than immigrants who are merely coming from abroad.
Canadian students pay significantly less tuition than international students. Scholarship opportunities may be available depending on where you go and what program you’re in.
A review grant is needed to study in Canada. This permits you to work full-time during academic holidays and up to 20 hours per semaine during school year.
You might be qualified for the Post-Graduation Work Permit. This is a highly sought-after permit that allows you to work for any Canadian employer. The permit lasts for as long as you study, so a 1-year program may qualify you to apply for a PGWP.
You must be enrolled in a program that allows you to receive the PGWP. This is a limited-time offer. These programs must last at least eight months and be offered by a designated learning institution in Canada. To be eligible for the PGWP, you must have completed the entire study program. International students may not be eligible for the PGWP in certain circumstances.
The major difference between the TFWP & IMP is the fact that the TFWP requires Canadian employers to obtain a Labour Market Impact Assessment, (LMIA). The TFWP and IMP are very similar in that they require the Canadian employer to obtain a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).
