On June 22, Canada invited 636 Express Entry applicants to make an application for permanent residence.
Participants in this draw previously had received nominated by a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and could show at least a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 752 or more. The CRS minimum score was very high because Express Entry candidates are automatically granted 600 points to their scores when a provincial government nominates them. Low-scoring candidates would have been awarded only 152 base points if they didn’t receive a nomination.
In the last draw, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited Express Entry applicants of 932 with CRS scores at least 796.
It could be the final PNP draw.
The Immigration Minister Sean Fraser said in a conference that “IRCC is planning to resume all-program draw on July 6.
Earlier in April, Fraser announced that Express Entry invitations for Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) applicants would return by the end of July.
From September 20, 2021, IRCC was able to draw draws for PNP candidates. In September 2021, the IRCC temporarily stopped draw draws to FSWP and CEC candidates to clear its huge Express Entry backlog – exacerbated by the COVID-19 virus.
Since the announcement, the IRCC’s applications inventory for those enrolled in the three Express Entry programs (FSWP, FST CEC, and CEC) has risen. On June 1, it was at 31,603 people, compared to 40,889 on the final day of April.
Even though all-program draws are likely to be resumed in the next two weeks, that could not be the final day for PNP draws for a long time. Before the pandemic, IRCC sometimes held draws that were solely PNP. IRCC believes that the PNP is essential to assist the economic development of regions across Canada.
Additionally, it appears that the Canadian Parliament is currently on its way to approving legislation C-19 that will permit IRCC to select candidates with profiles that align with the priorities of the federal government’s economic policies.
Canada’s Express Entry
It was first introduced in the year 2015. The Canadian Express Entry system currently manages three programs for economic immigration – that is, the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) as well as the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) as well as the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
Canada Express Entry is a points-based system that utilizes scoring calculators for CRS to judge and rank applicants within the Express Entry pool.
The points in the CRS score calculator. Points in Score Calculator for CRS are calculated based on specific human capital, transferability of skills, and other variables. The most important factors are age, education, work experience, language proficiency, province nominations, ability, and more.
Candidates with the highest score receive an invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence.
