Ontario held two PNP draw in May

PNP draws were not released at the provincial elections.

Ontario was the host of the two provincial Nominee Programme (PNP) drawing in May, according to an official from Ontario’s provincial administration.

In June, it was reported that there was a pause in the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) was stopped releasing information about draw results in the province’s election for the government that ended in June.

In May 2004, Ontario issued 57 invitations for applicants who are part of the Expression of Interest (EOI) system pool that could qualify for this Employer Job In-Demand Skills stream with scores of 27 or over.

On May 26 On May 26, OINP issued 535 notices for potential candidates who might qualify for the Ontario’s Express Entry Skilled Trades stream that has a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores in the range of 295- 461.

About the Skills Stream in-Demand

In-Demand Skills Stream in-demand skills Stream focuses more on the demand for local jobs instead of the skill level required by an occupation. Many immigration programs target jobs that the government considers “high skill.” However, Ontario still has labour shortages in professions thought to be “low skill.”

Foreign workers eligible for job offers that are valid in Ontario are eligible for the PNP with nine months of work experience in the province over the last three years. Experience gained through seasonal work is not a proper way to satisfy work requirements. A part-time job is acceptable if the applicant has met the minimum number of hours worked. This could include 1,200 hours of work at one place in 18 months or working at least one job with at least 30 hours of work paid during a week for nine months, which equals 1,200 hours.

There are many other requirements for eligibility. In general, applicants must have an education in high school and an overall proficiency in a language at or above four across all proficiency levels, a sufficient amount of settlement funds, and other prerequisites.

To be considered for an invitation to apply under this Stream, applicants need complete the profile on Ontario’s EoI program. Ontario assesses the profile of applicants according to the scores matrix. It considers the candidate’s education, experience in work, the destination of the candidate in Ontario and other aspects. Its goal is to assist those who possess the necessary skills and expertise to succeed in the Ontario labour market.

The process of registering in the EOI system does not mean that applicants are invited to submit their applications for provincial nomination. Profiles remain valid in Ontario’s EOI pool for 12 months, and the OINP can contact registered users to request a nomination.

Information about the Express Entry Skill-Leading Trades stream in Ontario

The Skilled Trades Stream allows the OINP to look through candidates in the Express Entry pool for applicants currently resident in Ontario. The Federal Express Entry system oversees the pool of applicants in the three most important economic immigration categories: the Federal Skilled Workers Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and the Canadian Experience Class

To be considered eligible to apply for to be eligible for Skilled Trades Stream, candidates require a minimum of one-year full-time Ontario experience in work or equivalent part-time employment in the skilled trade that is listed as a Minor Group 633 or Major Group 72, 73, or according to the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC).

Candidates don’t need an offer from a company to apply for one of the Skilled Trades Stream, but they must fulfil all required federal and provincial program conditions.

Candidates nominated for Canadian permanent residence via the Skilled Trades Stream receive an additional 600 CRS points. They get an Invitation to Application to obtain Canadian permanent residence via an Express Application system.
