MPNP Draw Results – August 7, 2025

On August 7, the MPNP held Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #251 under both the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas pathways, issuing a total of 37 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs).

To qualify, candidates needed:

  • A minimum score of 724 on the MPNP’s unique points system, and
  • A direct invitation from the MPNP through a strategic recruitment initiative.

The LAAs were distributed as follows:

Strategic Recruitment InitiativeLAAs Issued
Employer Services15
Francophone Community19
Regional Communities1
Ethnocultural Communities2

Of these, seven candidates also had valid Express Entry profile numbers and job seeker validation codes. The MPNP noted that some candidates meeting the cut-off score did not receive an LAA due to issues such as:

  • Missing or invalid third-party language test numbers in their EOI, or expired test results.
  • Providing an invalid invitation number despite claiming a direct invitation under a strategic recruitment initiative.

Understanding Strategic Recruitment Initiatives

The Immigration Professional states that strategic recruitment initiatives are special employer- or community-led programs. These programs, led by employers or communities, not only help fill local labour shortages but also give foreign nationals a potential route to permanent residency. To take part, employers must meet specific eligibility requirements for open roles and follow Manitoba’s ABC Recruitment Process. Once approved, they can forward details of qualified international candidates to Manitoba’s Employer Services.

Candidate, in turn, must meet the criteria of their selected immigration stream. This includes requirements for language ability, work history, education, and age. Those with strong ties to another Canadian province or territory may be seen as a retention risk. This perception could affect their chances.
