June turned out to be a busy month for Canada’s immigration system—busier than many expected. After two relatively quiet months, the federal government picked up the pace, issuing more than 7,400 invitations to apply (ITAs) through the Express Entry system. That’s more than April and May combined.
So what’s driving this shift? And how competitive is your CRS score now that the pool has grown? Here’s what you need to know, from the draw details to score distribution—all gathered and reviewed by the team at The Immigration Professional.

IRCC Held Six Express Entry Draws in June
In total, six draws were conducted last month. That’s the highest number of rounds held in a single month so far this year—and the first time since November 2024 we’ve seen that level of activity.
The draws targeted three groups:
- Candidates nominated through a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
- Applicants under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
- Profiles with experience in healthcare or social services, which are part of IRCC’s targeted occupations for 2025
Below are the key numbers from each round:
| Date | Draw Type | ITAs Issued | CRS Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| June 2 | PNP | 277 | 726 |
| June 4 | Healthcare | 500 | 504 |
| June 10 | PNP | 125 | 784 |
| June 12 | CEC | 3,000 | 529 |
| June 23 | PNP | 503 | 742 |
| June 26 | CEC | 3,000 | 521 |
CEC applicants made up the bulk of the invitations, signaling a strong push for candidates with Canadian work experience. This isn’t surprising, as CEC draws typically help meet short-term labour needs quickly.
ITA Totals So Far in 2025
Here’s how June compares with the rest of the year:
| Month | Total ITAs |
|---|---|
| January | 5,821 |
| February | 11,601 |
| March | 13,261 |
| April | 1,246 |
| May | 2,511 |
| June | 7,405 |
Up to the end of June, 41,845 candidates have received invitations through Express Entry this year. That’s a healthy number, but still slightly below 2023 levels during the same period.
More People Are Entering the Pool
As of June 22, 2025, there were 256,754 active profiles in the Express Entry system—an increase of over 6,600 since mid-May.
Here’s a breakdown of how candidates are distributed across CRS score bands:
| Score Range | Profiles |
|---|---|
| 0–300 | 8,370 |
| 301–350 | 21,746 |
| 351–400 | 54,237 |
| 401–410 | 13,150 |
| 411–420 | 14,209 |
| 421–430 | 14,273 |
| 431–440 | 15,676 |
| 441–450 | 14,927 |
| 451–460 | 15,525 |
| 461–470 | 17,167 |
| 471–480 | 17,358 |
| 481–490 | 13,508 |
| 491–500 | 13,190 |
| 501–600 | 22,947 |
| 601–1200 | 471 |
What stands out? The number of people with scores above 600 jumped—mostly thanks to new provincial nominations. If you’re in that range, your chances of receiving an ITA are strong.
Where Does Your Score Stand?
Your CRS score isn’t just a number—it determines how you stack up in the pool. Here’s how different score brackets rank, based on percentiles and how much of the pool each represents:
| CRS Score | Candidates | Percentile | % of Pool |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0–300 | 8,370 | 0–3.26% | 3.26% |
| 301–350 | 21,746 | 3.26–11.73% | 8.47% |
| 351–400 | 54,237 | 11.73–32.85% | 21.12% |
| 401–410 | 13,150 | 32.85–37.98% | 5.12% |
| 411–420 | 14,209 | 37.98–43.51% | 5.53% |
| 421–430 | 14,273 | 43.51–49.07% | 5.56% |
| 431–440 | 15,676 | 49.07–55.17% | 6.11% |
| 441–450 | 14,927 | 55.17–60.99% | 5.81% |
| 451–460 | 15,525 | 60.99–67.03% | 6.05% |
| 461–470 | 17,167 | 67.03–73.72% | 6.69% |
| 471–480 | 17,358 | 73.72–80.48% | 6.76% |
| 481–490 | 13,508 | 80.48–85.74% | 5.26% |
| 491–500 | 13,190 | 85.74–90.88% | 5.14% |
| 501–600 | 22,947 | 90.88–99.82% | 8.94% |
| 601–1200 | 471 | 99.82–100% | 0.18% |
If your score is in the 470s or higher, you’re in a competitive zone. But remember, Express Entry isn’t one-size-fits-all. Category-based draws and PNP nominations can change the game.
