Canada launches new immigration application tracker for spousal and child sponsorship Immigration applicants for spousal, common-law, and dependent child sponsorship can now view their application status online.
Canada has created an online portal through which spousal or child sponsor applicants are able to follow their immigration applications online.
The tracker is available on the government’s website. It is only available to applicants for common-law, spousal or dependent sponsorship. It is open to applicants as well as their representatives.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) states on its on-line form the tracker’s data can be changed at any time prior to when IRCC officers take any final decision. The form also states that there could be delays or discrepancies between the actual status of sponsorship applications as well as the information within the tracking form.
This tracker system was revealed earlier this week by Minister of Immigration Sean Fraser as part of a program in order to upgrade and modernize the Canadian Immigration system.
“We understand that clients want easier access to status updates on their case files,” an official press announcement stated. To that end we will likewise present another Permanent Residence Application Tracker in February 2022 for life partners and wards, to permit clients to effortlessly get to their application data and status on the web.
The government will also increase online applications for potential immigrants by the summer of 2022. The move to more online application procedures is intended to cut down on the processing time that is associated with paper applications and also to reduce the risk of spread of the pandemic.
In the announcement the government noted that its efforts up to now have allowed for average processing time for new applicants for spousal sponsorship to return to the timeframe of 12 months.
Canada has experienced an slowdown in the processing of the process of submitting immigration requests across all fields of business. In December 2021, there were 54,683 spousal sponsor applicants and 8,848 children as well as other family-class applicants awaiting an answer.
